UK companies selling packaged products into Europe face hard new obligations under PPWR. Without a signed Declaration of Conformity, your goods cannot legally enter the EU market after August 12. We handle everything.
Goods can be rejected at EU borders without a valid Declaration of Conformity. Non-compliance risks market access being suspended.
Fines up to €100,000 per country · Products blocked at EU borders · No grace period after August 12
Every unique packaging type placed on the EU market needs a signed DoC backed by technical documentation. Without one, your products cannot legally enter the market after August 12.
You must register with the national PRO in every EU member state where you sell. Amazon FBA, distributors, and direct retail all count. One registration does not cover multiple countries.
29 delegated acts from the European Commission are still outstanding as of 2026. The rules will continue to change through 2028. Ongoing monitoring is not optional — it is built into our service.
From scoping your obligations to managing country registrations and keeping you compliant as PPWR evolves through 2028.
A structured scoping engagement. We confirm your exact obligations before a single registration is filed. Fixed fee, credited against Year 1.
Your full packaging catalogue managed on your behalf. Quarterly PRO submissions. DoC documentation. Regulatory updates as PPWR evolves.
Each EU country requires its own PRO registration. We manage every registration, submission, and annual renewal across all markets.
"We thought we just needed to register in Germany. Calenta's discovery showed we had obligations in three more countries from our FBA inventory. Caught it with 8 weeks to spare."
— UK housewares exporter, 2026Built by a team that manages EU packaging compliance across multiple markets for its own product range. We understand PPWR as exporters, not just advisors.
We manage our own compliance across DE, FR, IE, NL, and SE. Every process we use with clients is one we've refined from the inside.
Named contact throughout. You get a direct answer — not a ticketing system, not a knowledge base. Just a call or email to someone who knows your account.
Discovery from £2,500 versus the industry standard of £4,950+. Same service. Lower cost. Because we're a specialist team, not a platform with large overheads to recover.
We talk through where you sell, what you export, and what PPWR means for your business. No commitment.
We scope your exact obligations — countries, packaging families, data gaps, DoC requirements.
We register you with PROs in each country. You provide sales volume data. We handle the rest.
Quarterly submissions, annual renewals, and regulatory updates as PPWR evolves through 2027–2028.
Every fee stated up front. No platform lock-in. No hidden charges. And significantly cheaper than the industry standard.
"We sell into six EU countries and had no idea what PPWR meant for us. Calenta scoped everything, registered us in Germany and France, and now manage our quarterly submissions. Completely hands-off for us."
"Discovery was worth every penny. We thought we needed one country registration — turns out our transit packaging created obligations in three others. Caught before the deadline with time to spare."
"The big compliance platform quoted £4,950 just for scoping. Calenta did the same work for £2,800 and our contact actually answered the phone. There's no comparison."
If you sell any product with packaging into any EU country — via Amazon FBA, direct retail, distributors, or e-commerce — PPWR applies to you. The regulation explicitly covers non-EU exporters, including UK businesses post-Brexit. Micro-enterprises face lighter rules but are not exempt.
No. UK EPR and EU PPWR are completely separate obligations with different data requirements, different registration bodies, and different national rules. UK compliance gives you no standing in any EU country. You need separate registration in every EU market where you place packaged products.
A DoC is a signed legal document confirming your packaging meets PPWR requirements, backed by a technical file. From August 12, 2026 every unique packaging type placed on the EU market needs one. Without it, your goods cannot legally enter the market and can be rejected at EU customs. We manage the DoC evidence base as part of our Phase 2 service.
Discovery takes 2–3 weeks once we have your packaging data. Country registration typically takes a further 3–4 weeks per country, which we run in parallel. With 9 weeks until August 12, there is still time — but only if you start now. We can compress the timeline by running everything simultaneously.
Yes. As of mid-2026, 29 delegated acts from the European Commission are still outstanding. Technical standards for recyclability grading, recycled content verification, and Design for Recycling criteria will continue to be published through 2027–2028. We monitor every change and update your compliance posture as part of the annual management service.
Your product catalogue with packaging specifications — material types, weights, supplier attributions — and quarterly sales volume data by EU country. We provide a clear data collection template at the start of the engagement. Many UK exporters already have most of this from UK EPR compliance.
